Terms & Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT:

TERMINOLOGY:

The following terms and conditions constitute a binding agreement between The Jump Digital School Limited (“The Jump”, “we”, “us”, “our”, "school") and recipients of our services (“you”, “your”, “participants”, "student", "students"). By agreeing to receive our services, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.

DATA:

As a data controller, we request, store and use your personal data in a manner which is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our privacy statement can be found on our website and in the interest transparency:

We use the services of secure 3rd party data processors/controllers such as Stripe, GoCardless, and QuickBooks to arrange payments.

From time to time we will email you regarding customer service, instruction support and occasionally to update you on available services.

We may seek to promote you and your work to raise your profile, and the profile of The Jump. This may involve using and sharing your personal data such as your image, your name, examples of your work, and links to your social media profiles.

As per your rights under GDPR, you have rights regarding the use of your personal data.

FUNDING AND PAYMENT:

If you’re purchasing our course via Reed courses:

You are purchasing a space on our bootcamp

Reed processes your payment for the bootcamp on our behalf.

Reed requires that the full amount be paid up front.

You may cancel your purchase of the course within the period of 14 calendar days from the date on which the contract of purchase is concluded. This is called a "Cancellation Period". Note that if you redeem your voucher during the Cancellation Period, you expressly request us to begin providing the course materials and you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel the purchase of the course and get any refund for it.

In case you decide to cancel your purchase of a course, it can be done by filling out Reed’s Cancellation Form and sending it via info@thejump.tech

If you’re paying us directly:

You are purchasing a space on our bootcamp

The Jump allows the payment for that space to be separated into a deposit and instalments

The details of the deposit and instalment payment dates and amounts are presented in your Bootcamp Fee Payment Schedule

The reason we allow you to separate the full bootcamp fee into a deposit and instalments that are paid over a period of time, is to help you to avoid the impact of a single lump-sum payment up-front.

Whilst we provide this option to allow you more time to pay for the bootcamp so as to reduce the up-front impact, by entering into this agreement, you are committing to pay the full fee for the bootcamp in its entirety, as detailed in the Bootcamp Fee Payment Schedule, irrespective of your continued participation in the training sessions.

By paying the deposit, you are entering into this agreement

The deposit and all subsequent instalment payments are non-refundable except under certain conditions as detailed in the section below, headed Cancellations and Refunds.

We accept payments for the deposit and instalments via Direct Debit.

If you’re using a 3rd party finance firm to pay us directly:

You are purchasing a space on our bootcamp

If a 3rd party finance firm is sending the funds to us directly, to pay for your space, then we are able to accept those payments.

The payment is to consist of a single payment made prior to your participation in our bootcamp.

The payment is non-refundable except under certain conditions as detailed in the section below, headed Cancellations and Refunds.

If lenders require you to pay a deposit for the bootcamp then we accept payments via Direct Debit.

The Deposit must also be paid prior to your participation in our bootcamp.

Students may apply for 3rd party finance after the bootcamp has started. If they are successful, the above rules pertaining to the use of 3rd party finance apply.

If your Employer pays us directly:

You are purchasing a space on our bootcamp

We can accept full or partial payment for that space, from an employer

In the event that the full fee for your participation is paid by your employer, that payment is to consist of a single payment made prior to your participation in our bootcamp.

The payment is non-refundable except under certain conditions as detailed in the section below, headed Cancellations and Refunds.

In the event that part of the full fee for that space is paid by your employer, that payment is to consist of a single payment made prior to your participation in our bootcamp.

The payment is non-refundable except under certain conditions as detailed in the section below, headed Cancellations and Refunds.

You are liable for the payment of the outstanding portion of the full fee which has not been paid by your employer.

The outstanding amount is to be paid as per the Bootcamp Fee Payment Schedule, via direct debit.

By arranging for your employer to pay part of the full fee required for your space on our bootcamp, you are entering into an agreement to pay the outstanding amount of that full fee, as detailed in the Bootcamp Fee Payment Schedule, irrespective of your participation in the training sessions.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS:

Should an extreme circumstance arise which prevents you from participating in the bootcamp after you have paid the deposit, at our sole discretion, we reserve the right to consider an alternative arrangement.

In the unlikely event that The Jump cancels a training session of a course or bootcamp, The Jump will work to find alternative arrangements as quickly as possible to avoid disrupting your progress.

In the extremely unlikely event that The Jump is forced to cancel part or all of a course or bootcamp and is unable to find an alternative arrangement, then we will provide a refund of the fees paid by you, to The Jump, pertaining to the remaining portion of the course or bootcamp which will be unavailable to you as a result of its cancellation. If you are using 3rd party financing, we will refund the portion of the principal amount borrowed relating to the remaining portion of the course or bootcamp which will be unavailable to you as a result of its cancellation. The Jump accepts no liability for any interest or other fees owed by the customer to the 3rd party financer.

The Jump reserves the right to refuse to provide services to anyone who displays behaviours which it deems unacceptable, antisocial or threatening, to either the school, any other students or staff members. In such extreme circumstances, The Jump accepts no liability to provide a refund or seek alternative arrangements to accommodate the student if we remove the provision of services to them.

If you notify The Jump of your decision not to participate in one of our training bootcamps by emailing them at info@thejump.tech within 14 calendar days of completing the Direct Debit Mandate Form, or paying the funds via Reed, we will refund you the amount that you have paid to The Jump less transaction costs, providing that you have not already begun to participate in the training sessions.

Under any other circumstances, all fees are non-refundable.

Any disputed fees must be brought to the attention of The Jump in writing, by email to info@thejump.tech within fourteen days of the fee being charged.

PARTICIPANT’S RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Jump provides optional career-change support to enable students to secure working opportunities. To enable us to maintain our good name and standing with potential employers, we insist that for all opportunities that participants have been introduced to through The Jump, participants must attend all interviews and undertake all technical tests within the given time frame

We will not provide career-change support to participants who do not abide by these responsibilities

All students are welcome to make public declarations that they have attended a bootcamp delivered by The Jump. For clarity and consistency, the following must be applied in such declarations:

Participants who attended but did not complete: Any written or verbal declaration must make it clear that the participant did not complete the bootcamp by using the phrase ‘attended but did not complete’

Participants who attended and completed, but did not reach the necessary minimum standard for The Jump to provide career-change support: Any written or verbal declaration must make it clear that the participant has not yet met the minimum standards for career change support by using the phrase ‘attended and completed and still working to attain the required standard’

Participants who attended, completed and successfully achieved the necessary minimum standard for The Jump to provide career-change support: Any written or verbal declaration must make it clear that the participant has successfully completed the bootcamp to The Jump’s rigorous standards, by using the phrase ‘attended and completed and successfully attained the high rigorous standards set by The Jump’

The learning curve for software engineering can be steep and participants are responsible for completing the homework, challenges and projects that we set them, by the deadlines set, in order to meet the expected and industry standards.

The Jump strives to create a safe & enjoyable learning environment and community, based on respect & fun. We act with dignity and respect. We also request that participants are responsible for acting in the same manner, treating themselves, each other and the Jump’s staff with dignity and respect, both in-person and online.

Participants must follow the Health and Safety rules as outlined by The Jump staff members.

Students must adhere to the Bootcamp Fee Payment Schedule above.
